Meet Tika
Hi, I am Tika. I am a trauma-informed and evidence-based therapist. My approach is gentle, collaborative and culturally affirming. My passion for this work stems from seeing the power in getting the right support. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore, heal and grow.
What sparks me?
Moments when someone feels truly seen, when they realise they don’t have to explain or justify who they are, and they can just be. Moments when someone reconnects with their own strength, finds their voice and their pace.
Why I am a therapist:
I became a therapist because of my own lived experience, which showed me both how fragile hope can be and how powerful, compassionate and tailored support is. After working in various settings, I’ve seen that one-size-fits-all “help” can miss what people truly need, and I want to offer care that is truly responsive to each person’s story. I can experience joy and happiness and work through tough times effectively thanks to the much-needed support I received. I want to be able to support others who are also on this journey.

My career so far
I trained and practised across a range of settings that taught me how context shapes recovery. Over more than 10 years, I’ve combined front-line clinical work with a learning and development role, which has given me practical skills in assessment, therapeutic planning, group facilitation and staff training. That breadth means I’m comfortable supporting people through crisis, stabilisation, and longer-term growth, and I know how to adapt approaches to fit different environments and needs. I have received training in a range of therapeutic modalities, and I draw upon these to tailor interventions to each person’s culture, identity and life stage.
